This group supports member-led exploration of the geological features of our local, national and global cosmological area, combining light study with practical activities such as map reading, fossil identification, and short field visits.

Our journey spans local and national exploration, where we pair light, accessible study with practical field visits to discover the unique landscapes and rock formations around us. Back indoors, our hands-on workshops bring science to life through essential skills like map reading, rock classification, and fossil identification. Together, we look at the big picture—connecting our local discoveries to a global and cosmological view that explores plate tectonics, deep time, and Earth's place in the cosmos. Whether you are a complete beginner or a lifelong rock enthusiast, there is always something new to discover with us!
