Who We Are

The u3a is a unique and exciting charitable organisation which provides life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities, while making friends along the way. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery!

Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together - they draw upon their knowledge and experience to teach and learn from each other. There are no qualifications involved - it is just for pleasure. And it is all voluntary, run by members for other members, where we aim to create a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can feel part of it.

What Eastwood & District u3a offers

Currently we have many activity groups, You are sure to find a group or groups which will appeal to your interests, where you can discuss, learn and socialise with a really friendly and welcoming group of people who are willing to share their skills and life experiences.

As well as the numerous groups appealing to a wide range of interests there are various other events throughout the year, which include day trips, lunches and Christmas celebrations.

There are also Monthly Meetings on the first Wednesday of the month that include invited speakers. These are held in St Mary's Church, Church Street, Eastwood NG16 3BS. This provides a chance to catch up with activities across our u3a and meet up with friends, new and old. Why not come along as a visitor to a Monthly Meeting and find out more about us?
