Who We Are

The u3a is a unique and exciting charitable organisation which provides life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities, while making friends along the way. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery!

Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together - they draw upon their knowledge and experience to teach and learn from each other. There are no qualifications involved - it is just for pleasure. And it is all voluntary, run by members for other members, where we aim to create a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can feel part of it.

What Eastwood & District u3a offers

We offer a diverse selection of interest groups tailored to a wide range of personal hobbies, interests and pursuits. These groups provide an ideal forum for members to acquire new skills, engage in stimulating discussions, and socialise within a welcoming community of like-minded individuals who gladly share their life experiences.

In addition to our regular group activities, we host an array of seasonal events throughout the year, including organised day trips, group lunches, and festive Christmas celebrations. These occasions offer excellent opportunities for members to connect outside of their standard schedules and foster a strong sense of community.

We also hold our general Monthly Meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at St Mary's Church, Church Street, Eastwood (NG16 3BS), featuring a variety of guest speakers. These meetings are a perfect way to stay informed about our latest activities and catch up with friends, both old and new. Prospective members are cordially invited to attend a meeting as a guest to discover everything our u3a has to offer. A warm welcome awaits you!

We welcome members from across Eastwood and the surrounding districts.
